About Firebird
Firebird and its InterBase ancestor sit under a lot of trades and SMB software in the German-speaking market. The database file is usually on a server in the back office, and that is all we need.

What comes out One normalised dataset: consistent column names, UTF-8 throughout, empty values instead of the literal text NULL. The transformation works against that shape, not against the quirks of the source.
